Nutrient Review

Although PGA / PGA Plus do not contain any appreciable amounts of primary, secondary or micronutrients they do drastically impact soil fertility. The formulations will fix atmospheric N and solubilize P, K, Ca, Mg etc. These microbial based formulations are capable of drastically increasing nutrient availability thereby reducing the need for supplemental N, P, K applications limiting the potential for leaching and runoff.

The program outlined above is a basic organic program, which addresses plant nutrition and soil biology. Prior to implementing the program NatureClean recommends extensive soil chemistry and soil biology tests to determine if the program needs to be adjusted. Each soil profile is unique therefore adjustments are most likely indicated.

When interpreting soil chemistry tests within the confines of organic plant management one must look at BOTH total and available nutrients. An organic system provides you with the luxury of utilizing the “unavailable nutrients” that are often dismissed when traditional synthetic programs are in place.

The program drastically increases biological activity in the soil, which permits you to tap this nutrient reserve and eventually provide it to the grass plant. Many of the microbial genus / species / strains found in NatureClean’s Plant Growth Activator, Plant Growth Activator Plus, Lawn Booster and 8 – 2 – 4 PLUS are capable of solubilizing soil elements and making them plant available. Additionally the products outlined above contain a consortium of nitrogen fixing microorganisms such as Paenibacillus polymyxa, Bacillus azotoformans, Paenibacillus durum, Azotobacter vinelandii and Azospirillum sp. These microorganisms are capable of fixing atmospheric N and converting it into a usable plant form reducing the need for supplemental applications of N. In general the microbial inputs permit you to cut down on supplemental fertilizer applications in order to satiate the plants nutritional requirements.

Aside from the product specific selections listed above NatureClean will outline additional organic / natural inputs to augment and adjust the preceding program:

  • Calcium and Potassium Supplements
  • Micronutrient Sprays
  • Liquid Organic Fertilizers (Soy, Amino Acid, Fish hydrolysate)
  • Humic Acid & Fulvic Acid
  • Bio-genic Carbon
  • Molasses
  • Mycorrhizal Fungi
  • Beneficial Nematodes & Milky Spore
  • Soaps, Oils, Neem Based Formulations
  • Amino Acids, Folic Acid, Vitamins, Biotin
  • Greensand & Rock Dusts
  • Compost & Compost Teas
